It is already almost halfway through 2015, and June has been especially busy as far as customer publication goes. We wanted to pass on the articles to you and congratulate our customers on their success!
- Elena Gusareva and Kristel Van Steen of the University of Liege and colleagues recently published A cautionary note on the impact of protocol changes for genome-wide association SNP × SNP interaction studies: an example on ankylosing spondylitis in Human Genetics which investigated the influence of marker selection and marker prioritization strategies in GWAI.
- Gene-environment interaction between the oxytocin receptor (OXTR) gene and parenting behaviour on children’s theory of mind was published in the Oxford Journals by Mark Wade and Jennifer Jenkins of the University of Toronto along with colleagues. The article examined how variability in the oxytocin receptor gene and parent behavior interacted to predict theory of mind in preschool children.
- Brian Davis of the NHGRI and Christopher Seabury of Texas A&M, along with colleagues, published Mechanisms underlying mammalian hybrid sterility in two feline interspecies models in the Oxford Journals in which two interspecies of cat breeds were used in a GWAS employing the Illumina 63K SNP array.
- In the Journal of Pain and Symptom Management, Bradley Aouizerat of UCSF and colleagues published Phenotypic and Molecular Evidence Suggest That Decrements in Morning and Evening Energy Are Distinct But Related Symptoms which attempted to identified two latent classes with distinct evening energy trajectories.
- Linda Reis and Elena Semina of the Medical College of Wisconsin published Identification of an Alu-repeat-mediated deletion of OPTN upstream region in a patient with a complex ocular phenotype in Molecular Genetics and Genomic Medicine which performed whole-exome sequencing (WES) and whole-genome copy number analyses of patient DNA.
- Chao-Qiang Lai of Tufts University and colleagues published Clock Genes Explain a Large Proportion of Phenotypic Variance in Systolic Blood Pressure and This Control Is Not Modified by Environmental Temperature in the Oxford Journals. This study examined if environmental temperature on the day of a patient’s assessment is associated with blood pressure.
- Genome-wide linkage disequilibrium analysis of indigenous cattle breeds of Ethiopia and Korea using different SNP genotyping BeadChips was published in Genes and Genomics by Kwan-Suk Kim and colleagues of Chungbuk National University, which surveyed genome-wide linkage disequilibrium using three genotyping BeadChips in 12 cattle populations.
- Radek Bukowski of Yale University along with colleagues published Cluster analysis of spontaneous preterm birth phenotypes identifies potential associations among preterm birth mechanisms in the AJOG which assessed women for the presence of underlying SPTB etiologies.
- Raman Babu of CIMMYT and colleagues published Fine mapping of Msv1 , a major QTL for resistance to Maize Streak Virus leads to development of production markers for breeding pipelines in Theoretical and Applied Genetics which studied the resistance to Maize Streak Virus by a QTL on chromosome 1.
- In BMC Genomics, Xin Geng of Auburn University and his colleagues published A genome-wide association study in catfish reveals the presence of functional hubs of related genes within QTLs for columnaris disease resistance in which GWAS was performed using catfish arrays with back cross progenies.
