Golden Helix’s VarSeq Software to be used at NorthShore University HealthSystem to Fuel Expansion

Bozeman, MT (January 13, 2015) — Today, Golden Helix, Inc. announced their collaboration with NorthShore University HealthSystem as NorthShore implements Golden Helix’s software into their gene panel pipeline.

“We look forward to leveraging Golden Helix’s software, especially VarSeq, in our clinical lab,” said Linda Sabatini, Director of Molecular Diagnostics at NorthShore. “We have an aggressive expansion plan for 2015 and VarSeq was the best choice for us.”

The NorthShore Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) lab focuses primarily in Oncology, both somatic mutations in a variety of tumor types as well as inherited cancer syndromes. The lab hopes to move forward with exome sequencing later in 2015.

“We are delighted to serve NorthShore,” said Andreas Scherer, President and CEO of Golden Helix. “VarSeq has received rave reviews since our release in October and this is one of many collaborations that we look forward to supporting in the coming year.”

VarSeq software streamlines the process of annotating and filtering variants obtained from next generation sequencing pipelines, allowing both research scientists and clinicians to find variants of interest in a very efficient and straightforward manner. VarSeq simplifies the user interface and provides a scalable architecture featuring repeatable workflows, note taking and reporting, and filter parameter prototyping.
