Bozeman, Montana (April 21, 2005) – Golden Helix Inc. announced today a major upgrade to its HelixTree Genetics Analysis Software package. Version 4.0 contains a number of new capabilities including integration with the R and S-PLUS statistical packages, a powerful new Python scripting interface allowing automation of workflow routines among multiple packages, and a new Script Server, which lets experts in genetics and/or statistics write highly technical scripts and quickly deploy them across an enterprise to non-experts.
“When we looked at data analysis dilemmas faced by the pharma and biotech industry, we found that innovations often come too little too late for time-critical projects. Software vendors have a hard time keeping up with bleeding edge innovations”, commented Christophe Lambert, President and CEO of Golden Helix. “As a result scientists are left using software packages that provide limited documentation, testing, support and user-friendliness. Because of our new software architecture, bleeding edge innovations can now be quickly mapped to a production environment.”
HelixTree now offers:
Python is an interpreted, interactive, object-oriented programming language that is very robust and easy to learn. It is portable to virtually any operating system and allows for prototyping 4-10X faster compared with other programming languages.
